Two of Western Canada’s most celebrated musicians, vocalist Amanda Wood and trumpeter Malcolm Aiken combine their talents in an unforgettable performance that brings together the dazzle of the voice with the elegance of flugel horn and trumpet.
Amanda Wood is a highly celebrated vocalist and international touring aritist, with shows at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Wynn Hotel Las Vegas, Shanghai and Hong Kong. With a voice described by David Foster as "sultry and unique" she is a soulful performer with a gift for emotional story telling.
Malcolm Aiken brings a musical style that flirts with latin and pop, infused with a smooth jazz groove. His velvet tone plays homage to Chet Baker and Miles Davis while his original compositions are inspired by his own influences as an artist, "the smoky jazz club, the cuban dance hall, the symphony orchestra."
Performing music off their new albums "On My Way to You" and "Paper Star", the duo also play bold new takes on jazz standards and contemporary artists like Adele, Coldplay and Lou Reed. They are backed by Cuban drummer Gorge Smith and Juno Award-winning Miles Black on piano, bringing together new elements of jazz and pop with a touch of world fusion.
Born into a musical family consisting of four generations of musicians steeped in the tradition of New Orleans music and early jazz from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s, Arnt and Evan Arntzen take this music to the streets, clubs, and dance halls, of Vancouver.
Evan Arntzen is a saxophone/clarinet player and singer who has been playing New Orleans jazz since he was seven years old. Having performed in concert halls and for dancers all over the USA and Canada, as well as in Europe and Japan, he knows how to get folks moving to the music. Arnt Arntzen is a banjo and guitar strumming rhythm machine and a singer with a magnetic style all his own.

After graduating as a jazz and contemporary guitar major from VCC, Colin has completed two cruise ship tours of the Western Caribbean, toured across Canada, and is currently performing everything from disco to latin fusion with many different artists in Vancouver, as well as performing his own gigs as a solo guitarist and with his trio.
Whether its in the form of solo guitar, trio, or larger band, Colin's music is sure to set the perfect atmosphere for any occasion!

Company B Jazz Band, a Vancouver-based sextet in the style of the Andrews and Boswell Sisters, rouses crowds for dancing and smiles with their cheerful renditions of classic repertoire from the 1920s through 1950s.

Hip Pocket is led by Adam Rohrlick, a multi-instrumentalist with over twenty five years of experience as a professional musician. Adam performs on guitar, saxophones and keyboards. He is also a skilled producer, arranger, songwriter and music teacher. Adam’s previous work experience includes a five year tenure in the lounge of the Hotel Vancouver (1996-2000) and steady engagements at The Panorama Roof (1994-1995), The Four Seasons Hotel (1993-1994) and the Sunday Smooth Jazz Brunch at the Dockside Restaurant in the Granville Island Hotel (2006-2008).

The Jen Hodge All Stars is the cream of the crop of Vancouver's young traditional jazz players - that is, Evan Arntzen on clarinet and vocals, Bonnie Northgraves on trumpet and vocals, Dave Taylor on guitar, and Jen Hodge on bass, vocals, and bandleading duties - playing high energy authentic jazz circa 1900-1935.
The All Stars have an expansive arsenal of songs both familiar and obscure, which they perform with expert musical skill and spontaneity as well as a signature raw enthusiasm which causes them to appeal both to jazz aficionados as well as to folks who just like to hang out and have a good time.
When John Gilliat holds his acoustic guitar he holds technique and emotion in melodic balance and holds his audience in the palm of his hand.
At age 26 he immersed himself in Flamenco guitar, inspired by the incredible sounds of Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo, Nino Josele and many others. John spent the next 6 years studying Flamenco Guitar, practicing 8 to 10 hours a day. The effort would pay off and the accolades would follow. In 1995, John won “Best Acoustic Guitar Performance” in the Music West Star Frets Competition. He won Vancouver’s Unplugged Competition in 1996, in 1997 he became a finalist in Vancouver’s Global Star Quest and in 2009 competed at the Montreal Jazz Festival winning the Grand Prize at the BOSS Loop Station 2009 Championship National Finals.
Like all great performers, John feeds off the energy of a live audience. The stage is where his heart soars and his music flows.
The corporate world has embraced John’s music as well, through recent performances for prestigious clients like MasterCard, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Verizon, Lehman Brothers, Sun America, Air Canada, Worksafe BC and many others. He’s also had the distinction of playing for Canada’s former, Prime Minister, Jean Chretien.
Jonathan Tobin is a 10-time award-winning pianist, composer, and songwriter based in Vancouver, BC. A graduate of Capilano University’s Jazz Studies program, his enthusiasm and passion for all styles of music have helped him to become in-demand musician in Vancouver’s diverse music scene and abroad. Specializing in jazz, blues, R&B, soul, pop, and any other music that grooves, Jonathan’s warm sound and virtuosic style have brought smiles to many faces.
His vast performance experience includes playing regularly on cruise ships, headlining at a variety of casinos, touring across Canada, playing in the finest hotels and members-only clubs in Vancouver, showcasing his music at concert halls, and performing for a wide array of private functions, galas, and weddings.
Over the years, Jonathan has had the chance to work with a variety of jazz heavyweights such as Dee Daniels, Brad Turner, Louis Hayes, and Randy Brecker. In 2013 he was selected by his mentors as the recipient of the Linton Garner Award for Outstanding Musicianship, and in 2015 was one of 9 outstanding graduates across Canada to receive the Fred Sherratt Award. Within the span of a few years, Jonathan has had the chance to perform with some of Vancouver’s finest artists and bands including Famous Players, D’arcy Han, Rosemary Siemens, Warren Dean Flandez, Kia Kadiri, Ten Souljers, Krystle Dos Santos, RnB Icons, Eli Bennett, Andrea Superstein, and Mike Henry. With influences that span as wide as the keys on the piano, Jonathan’s inventive playing seeks to capture both modern and nostalgic sounds.

Leslie started performing at age six, in the church choir. Her professional career began in 1978 with a long-standing house gig at The Devonshire Hotel. Leslie has performed with, among others: The Rhythm & Blues Allstars, Crusoe, The Euphorics (acapella), The CFOX Electric Lunch Orchestra and The CHRX Classic Rockers.
She has opened for Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Steppenwolf, Cheap Trick, War, Spencer Davis Group, Eric Burden and The Animals and Grand Funk Railroad. As the "les" in lesismore, Leslie's soulful voice and charismatic stage presence are irresistible to her ever-increasing Vancouver audience.

Lori Pappajohn’s beautifully-carved harp is a replica of a rare 17th Century harp in the Dublin museum. And her elegant one-of-a-kind gowns are designed after those found in pre-Raphaelite paintings.
Also a composer and singer, Lori Pappajohn has performed internationally as well as on radio and television. She has released 10 highly-successful CDs and is director of the critically-acclaimed Winter Harp ensemble.

Martin started playing the drums at age 12, but soon after he took on the guitar and piano which, along with his vocal stylings, have become the foundation of his live show today. He signed a record deal with Universal Germany at age 21 with his band "Outmatch" and has played shows all over North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2009, Martin made the move from Toronto to Vancouver and he has since become a staple around Vancouver's music scene, playing multiple nights a week across the city’s hottest venues, as well as tons of private functions. As a multi-instrumentalist, he builds up a wall of sound with looped beats, guitars, piano, and stunning vocal harmonies, all done on the fly with his loop station.
With his eclectic catalogue, Martin can be heard rocking songs from all genres, while still keeping a cool and coherent vibe.
Since the age of sixteen, Sharon Minemoto has been performing to audiences around the world. She is the leader of a trio, a quartet and a quintet. Her trio and quintet have each released one CD as well as several shows for CBC Radio. Her quartet's first recording is scheduled for May 2015. In addition to her own ensembles, she has performed in groups led by Jill Townsend, Cory Weeds, James Danderfer, Laura Crema, Alan Matheson, Mike Allen, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Phoenix Chamber Choir.
Sharon has been on faculty at Vancouver Community College in the school of music since 2000. She is the recipient of two Canada Council for the Arts grants and one BC Arts Council Grant. Her last grant took her to New York City for 4 months to study with Renee Rosnes and Kenny Werner.
Most recently, Sharon teamed up with vocalist Melissa van der Schyff for two very successful concerts, one at Birdland in NYC and the other at The Abbey Theatre in Orlando, Florida.

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Téa is a Vancouver based singer / classically-trained pianist / songwriter. With an A.R.C.T. diploma in piano performance and a B.A. in Music from UBC, Téa blends elements of R'n'B, Soul, and Pop into her own brand of "City Soul".
She was a 1st place winner at the International Songwriting Competition - ISC (R'n'B / Hip Hop category) with her song 'Fire & Flame', and a runner up at the ISC 2009 with 'In a Minute' (co-written with Krischan Grohne and Dane Deviller). 'Fire & Flame' has also won 3rd place at the Music BC's Songbird West Songwriting Contest.
Téa was the very first artist to be featured on Virgin Radio's 'Best of BC' new artist series, and a top 20 finalist in the Peak Performance Project. Her songs received extensive airplay on Virgin Radio, 100.5 The Peak, CBC 1, Belgrade 202 in Serbia, and Radio 1 in Greece.
Since the release of her debut EP 'Method to the Madness', Téa and her band have played over 400 shows, as well as showcases at the Arts Northwest conference, Ontario Contact, Vancouver International Jazz Fest, and Canadian Music Week 2012. Téa has toured Interior BC, Haida Gwaii, and Ontario, and has released her second EP 'Say Something' in March 2012.
A one man band that will surprise and delight you! Tim’s use opf looping technology makes for a solo show that you have to hear to believe! Without backing tracks, Tim sounds like an entire band, 100% live and “on the fly”. People are constantly amazed at how full of a sound just one voice and one guitar can create.
A mainstay of Vancouver’s music scene, Tim has been performing with some of Canada’s best known bands for the past two decades!
